Who we work with

Who are our clients?

Learning Ways offers support and education for children in the Wellington region with learning difficulties. These children are provided the opportunity to discover, practice and achieve with learning.

Students supported are identified as being unable to reach their potential due to a type of neurological difficulty known in New Zealand as Specific Learning Difficulties.

Often children appear bright and articulate yet struggle to read and write.  This can lead to frustration and concerning loss of self-esteem.

Specific learning difficulties

Specific Learning difficulties can be identified as:

  • Dyslexia (difficulty with reading)
  • Dyscalculia (difficulty with maths)
  • Dysgraphia (difficulty with writing)
  • Dyspraxia (difficulty with organisation and control)

Learning Ways exists to support children to reach their potential with specialised literacy tuition and computer software based on the science of reading.

How does payment work?

Funding from grants and donations goes directly into supporting student. Families may contribute an optional Koha.
